WHAT YOU'LL DOUnder the general direction of a dean, an Instructor (Non-Contract/Temporary) provides comprehensive classroom instruction to students from diverse backgrounds for the purpose of facilitating the attainment of their academic or vocational objectives. In accordance with Education Code sections 87482.5, Instructors (Non-Contract/Temporary) may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment. The initial focus of this teaching assignment will be a class working with the Spirit Team (cheering and stunting) which falls under the instructional discipline of Folk Dance.
We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration for part-time instructors in this discipline at Moorpark College. Applications submitted to this pool will be kept on file for the Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 semesters and may be considered if a vacancy becomes available within the academic year. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to apply to this pool to continue to be considered.

Moorpark College is one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District. It serves approximately 15,000 students and emphasizes a "students first" philosophy. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher-order thinking through assignments and activities in multiple instructional settings.
- Advise and instruct students on programs of study, resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services as appropriate.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on inquiries in class, online, or during office hours.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; align with department, college, and district goals.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, progress, and outcomes; prepare and submit data and reports timely.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials; order materials to ensure timely delivery.
- Revise and update course content in response to new developments; update syllabi and assess measurable outcomes.
- May participate in curriculum development, committees, articulation, and matriculation activities; may provide work direction to others.
- Perform related duties as assigned. Essential duties are indicated where applicable.
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications for the discipline as approved by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors. Options include:
