Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis and kept on file for Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and Spring 2026 semesters. Moves to other pools are not considered.
What You’ll Do- Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
- Develop, assess, and evaluate cognitive, communication, and higher‑order thinking skills of students in classroom and distance settings.
- Advise students regarding programs of study, other institutions, and study skills.
- Evaluate student performance against course objectives and learning outcomes; provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction based on approved course outlines to maximize student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, academic progress, curriculum, and learning outcomes.
- Select instructional materials in collaboration with discipline faculty; order materials through campus bookstore.
- Revise and update course content and materials to reflect current theory and industry developments.
- Update syllabi and collaborate with faculty to assess and revise measurable performance indicators.
- Participate in curriculum and program development, committees, conferences, and articulation activities.
- Provide work direction to others and perform related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis.
- OR bachelor’s degree in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND master’s in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech, or any foreign language.
- OR equivalent credentials as defined by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors.
- All coursework must be from a recognized accredited institution. Foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a recognized agency.
- Applications will be reviewed by the hiring department for completeness and qualification.

Work & PayPart‑time faculty with classroom assignments are paid between $2,408 and $3,108 per semester for a 10% load. Salaries are governed by the collective bargaining agreement with the Ventura County Federation of College Teachers, AFT Local 1828.
