WHAT YOU'LL DOUnder the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, perform avariety of technical duties in support of college services for students with disabilities.
There is currently one full-time (12 months/year, 40hours/week) vacancy located at Ventura College.
This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list ofeligible candidates that will be used to fill district-wide,current and upcoming, non-bilingual and bilingual, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed oneyear.
WHERE YOU'LL WORKEstablished in 1925, Ventura College was one of the first community colleges in California and currently has an enrollment of 14,500students. Located approximately 60 miles north of Los Angeles and
30 miles south of Santa Barbara, the 112-acre campus is set in the rolling hills of Ventura - so close to the ocean that there is aclear view of the Channel Islands from several spots oncampus.

SALTARY PLACEMENTGenerally,salary placement is on the first step of the salary range. Advancedstep placement may be granted depending on related education and experience.
Current Employees:
An employee who is promoted will be placed on thesalary step of the new range of the appropriate salary schedule that provides a minimum increase comparable to a one-step increase in salary.

Representative Duties- Assist in the coordination and implementation of services for students with disabilities. E
- Provide information, training, and assistance regarding resources,equipment, supplies, and services available to students with various disabilities. E
- Instruct students in the proper operation of specialized software and equipment; check out appropriate equipment, aids, and supplies to students; monitor return of equipment, and maintain appropriate inventory. E
- Research and recommend equipment to be purchased that meets the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements; determine and maintain appropriate inventory of equipment. E
- Provide specialized registration assistance for students with disabilities. E
- Recruit, train, schedule, and provide work direction to student workers; recruit and schedule readers, scribes, note takers,proctors, and tutors. E
