Additionally, this role is expected to cross-functionally collaborate throughout deployment of new processes, troubleshooting of manufacturing issues, and documentation efforts for all aspects of Meissner’s manufacturing.
- Develop and implement advanced automation solutions for Injection Molding operations. Including part handling, inspection, and downstream processes, to enable reliable “lights-out” manufacturing with minimal human intervention.
- Lead process improvement initiatives by independently identifying opportunities across all manufacturing spaces, creating implementation plans, and executing agreed upon solutions.
- Conduct process optimization studies by generating Design of Experiments, coordinating and executing the studies, documenting results, and presenting them to stakeholders.
- Prepare drawings for equipment modifications using 2-D and 3-D CAD software.
- Lead implementation of new manufacturing processes. Design, develop, and deploy new manufacturing equipment or automation systems to improve process capability, support the introduction of new products, and/or enhance existing processes via automation or retooling.
- Participate in the development process for new equipment and provide recommendations for ease of operation, maintenance, and long-term reliability.
- Facilitate testing and validation of new equipment and processes, as well as qualification of parts or intermediate processes.
- Create, review, and maintain process documentation, such as standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in the deployment of new equipment and processes.
- Train operators on equipment and processes.
- Provide engineering technical support for maintenance and production teams in troubleshooting equipment and processes, implementing design and process modifications, as needed.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to drive process optimization efforts, in order to reduce waste, save on costs, and improve process reliability.
- Assign maintenance work orders to the appropriate maintenance technicians for timely resolution.
- Support cross-functional projects related to capacity expansion, quality improvements, safety, and regulatory compliance.
