Senior Manager, Networking & Systems Engineering

Our client is a large, mission-driven public organization supporting a community of more than 200,000 residents. The technology team operates at true enterprise scale, supporting critical services, modern infrastructure, and long-term initiatives that directly impact the community. • Own and lead the design, reliability, and performance of core networking and systems infrastructure
• Act as the hands‑on technical authority across networking, virtualization, Linux, and data center environments
• Guide architecture, documentation, and operational standards for infrastructure systems
• Partner with peer IT leaders to ensure alignment between infrastructure, cloud, and user‑facing systems
• Lead and mentor engineering staff while remaining technically involved in complex initiatives
• Drive operational excellence, availability, and scalability across mission‑critical platforms
• Support upcoming infrastructure modernization and hybrid cloud initiatives

• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with deep exposure to networking and systems engineering
• 5 years of prior experience leading or managing technical teams
• Strong hands‑on background in enterprise networking and systems environments
• Solid Linux systems knowledge
• Experience working with virtualization platforms and data center infrastructure
• Ability to evaluate architecture, troubleshoot complex issues, and make pragmatic technical decisions
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Experience in large enterprise or public‑sector environments
• Exposure to hybrid cloud environments
• Familiarity with multi‑vendor network and firewall ecosystems
• Strong documentation and design discipline

• Competitive Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 per year
• 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off)
