Seeking Associate Attorney to Join our Team (Ventura County)

Job Title: Associate Attorney
Law Firm seeking two (2) experienced Associates for its busy and exciting litigation practice. The Firm represents Plaintiffs and Defendants in Construction law, Real Estate and Business Litigation. The ideal candidate will be a team player with solid academic credentials, 1-7 years of litigation experience, and be licensed to practice law in California.
Responsibilities- Draft pleadings, motions and briefs; prepare discovery, respond to requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, orders, etc.) and organize case materials
- Attend and manage court proceedings, mediations, settlement conferences, taking and defending depositions, site inspections and trial
- Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with courts, counsel, clients, witnesses and experts
- Accurate and timely recording of billable hours, in adherence to Firm policy
- Adhere to professional legal ethics and standards
- Strong written and critical thinking skills that lead to comprehensive persuasive writings
- Work both independently and as a contributing team member with paralegals and other support staff
- Ability to handle complex problems utilizing initiative, creativity, and sound professional judgment
- License to practice law in the state of California with active bar membership
- Westlaw or Nexis experience
- Hearing/trial experience
- 1-5 years of civil litigation experience with working knowledge of CA Rules of Civil Procedure
- Working knowledge or demonstrated interest in construction law, real estate, contracts, insurance and/or complex litigation
Full-Time, Monday-Friday. Prepared to work in our Westlake Village or Ventura Office. The Firm offers a competitive salary incentive pay. Continuing Legal Education requirements paid. Paid State Bar annual dues.
