Job Title:Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the safe and timely activities of production staff, under the direction of the VP, Manufacturing. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations on the manufacturing floor, serving as the main contact for problem‑solving, and implementing continuous improvement activities. Additionally, the Production Supervisor contributes individually to product building while managing and coaching production staff.
Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day production activities under the direction of Operations Management.
- Supervise production employees in the manufacturing and packaging of products.
- Provide leadership through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Manage a staff of up to 30 production employees, including temporary staff.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on production needs and maintain weekly production schedules.
- Utilize labor, materials, and support services to meet quality standards and production schedules.
- Provide technical guidance for production operators, including troubleshooting.
- Provide production metrics as requested.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure schedules are met.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
- Oversee personnel responsibilities, including evaluating job performance.
- Exercise responsibility for product cost control and quality within design and specification constraints.
- Lead effective and timely problem‑solving initiatives through team collaboration.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps and resources, implementing cost reductions, and developing reporting procedures.
- Provide manufacturing information by analyzing production performance records and data.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources.
- Experience in production management, electronics, aerospace, and production supervision.
- Engineering degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
- Current IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD 001 soldering certificates.
- 5+ years of manufacturing plant experience.
- 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret complex manufacturing drawings.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
Skills & Qualifications
- Addendum to IPC J‑STD 001 Space Application Electronic Hardware is a plus.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camarillo, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.07 - $52.88/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
