Test Technician – Camarillo, CA
Base Pay Range: $25.00/hr – $28.00/hr
Schedule: 6am – 4:30pm, Monday – Saturday
Summary: Responsible for testing product components and parts, performing basic sub‑assembly test procedures, and equipment setup under supervision. Functionally verifies product performance to defined test criteria.
Essential Functions- Performs set‑up, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and assemblies.
- Performs hand set‑ups for AC and DC digital and analog tests.
- Set‑up burn‑in for complete units and transformer testing.
- Preliminary and final test of complete assemblies with recording of test results.
- Analyzes failures and uses independent judgment to determine an appropriate course of action during troubleshooting.
- Operates analog and digital oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, AC test fixtures, and similar test equipment.
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail to ensure work accuracy and completeness.
- Follows instructions and reviews work activities with supervisors.
- Completes job functions timely and with high quality.
- Provides hands‑on training to coworkers as needed.
- Reports problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Test Manager.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Test assemblies per blueprint, ATPs and specifications daily.
- Perform in‑process inspections.
- Meet production schedule.
- Request material from stockroom as necessary.
- Learn new products and functions as required.
- Understand/perform all production processes without help.
- Assist in training of new personnel.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
- Promote teamwork and constructive work behaviors.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications and schematics.
- Soldering experience preferred but not required.
- Good oral and written communication skills and high moral and ethical standards.
- Basic calculations with a calculator to determine equivalent measurements, settings or outputs from equations.
- Basic electronics understanding for test equipment set‑up and operation.
- Experience in low‑voltage and high‑voltage testing.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Technical degree in Electronics or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend diagrams and procedures written in English.
- Experience with hand tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, generators and soldering equipment.
- One or more years in a similar field preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; frequently walk, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance. Must occasionally lift up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
