Tooling Support Coordinator - 1st Shift

Position Summary

With general guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of tooling support duties of moderate scope and complexity while following and assisting in the development of procedures and processes in one or more of the following functions: tool crib and tool setting, etc.

Essential Functions
  • Select, assemble and set basic N/C and conventional tooling using presetting equipment to close tolerances. With assistance determine correct set length and ensure that tools are marked and coded properly.
  • Follow setup instructions found on job setup and process sheets, in the standard tooling catalog or computerized system.
  • Assist in checking tools for sharpness and condition and determine if resharpening, retipping, repair or replacement is required and apply protective coatings to tools when necessary.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving problems involving tooling.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels and report deficiencies.
  • Assist in the handling and processing of raw inventory in and out of the Materials area.
  • Receive, store and issue tools, jigs, fixtures, templates and shop supplies. Use a computer terminal to track tooling activity and tool locations.
  • Coordinate tooling requirements with manufacturing engineering, purchasing and other functions.
  • Maintain records of all tooling and fixtures sent to suppliers.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Maintain records of withdrawals, returns, breakage and reconditioning.
Qualifications
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Two years related tooling experience or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and determine the condition and sizes of all tools and fixtures and good knowledge of shop tools, jigs, fixtures, templates, standard tooling system and computer terminal operations.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and follow forms, schematics and specifications.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
Mental and Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance, and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others.

This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.

Compensation
  • Pay Range: $22.4/hr to $34.7/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
