Job Summary
R & D Manager at Glass House Brands Inc. Responsible for coordinating research and development of cannabis products and processes.
Responsibilities- Lead key projects with R&D to support business goals.
- Develop research programs incorporating current developments to improve existing products and study potential new products.
- Establish project goals and priorities by collaborating with Propagation, Cultivation, Processing and Sale departments.
- Research, design and evaluate trials of new cannabis cultivars.
- Research, design and evaluate materials, products, processes and equipment.
- Design, develop and maintain a database to collect real‑time information for R&D projects and tests.
- Collaborate with appropriate parties on researching, trialing and introducing new cannabis cultivars for cultivation.
- Collect data, examine it to spot trends and glean information used to make business decisions.
- Assess scope of research projects and ensure on time and within budget.
- Document all phases of research and development.
- Analyze and identify opportunities for improvement by conducting observations.
- Present findings and conclusions to decision makers.
- Identify, integrate and apply solutions for quality performance and continual reporting.
- Work with management to centralize and organize data.
- Implement improvements and communicate project prioritization independently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors/Master’s in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science or Plant Pathology.
- 3+ years of experience in cannabis cultivation or research.
- Good knowledge of propagation, cultivation and cannabis processing.
- Familiarity with scientific principles including experimental design and statistical analysis.
- Ability to summarize data and make insightful decisions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized and detail oriented; sense of urgency.
- Knowledge of database structures and strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Computer skills:
Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook. - Commitment to quality and ethics.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must be 21+ years of age and possess a driver’s license.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Proven experience in cannabis growing and research.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or move 15‑50 pounds.
- Will work a minimum 40‑hour per week and may require extended hours, weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

The work environment is within greenhouse structures and product processing rooms. The position will require some working extended hours, weekends, and holidays depending on the needs of the R&D projects.
Hours & Schedule- This position is an exempt full‑time position.
- Flexible Monday through Friday weekly hours plus weekends and evenings as needed to manage special projects.
