Position Description OverviewLas Posas Country Club is seeking a fullt time dedicated and service‑driven First Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional member and guest experience while supporting all areas of the golf operation, including daily play management, tournament execution, instruction, merchandising, and staff leadership. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in building relationships, communicates well, leads by example, and contributes to the positive, member‑focused culture that defines Las Posas.
The First Assistant will work closely with the Head Golf Professional to oversee outside services, assist with managing the Golf Shop environment, support junior golf and ladies programming, and help carry out the club’s full calendar of events. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a genuine enthusiasm for creating a warm and enjoyable club atmosphere are essential. ExperienceRequired
- Minimum of four years of experience working in golf operations at a private club or similar facility.
- Strong understanding of daily golf operations, member service expectations, and tournament administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Advanced working knowledge of Golf Genius tournament software.
- Ability to lead and support staff while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and confident with technology in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering a positive, member‑focused experience.
- Compensation based off experience.
- Manage the daily flow of the golf operation, including opening and closing procedures and tee sheet oversight.
- Coordinate play throughout the day to ensure efficient operations and a smooth member experience.
- Supervise, train, and support the outside service team to maintain consistent, high‑level member service standards.
- Lead the preparation, setup, and scoring of all member tournaments and events using Golf Genius.
- Assist with league play, junior golf activities, and ladies programming throughout the year.
- Support Golf Shop merchandising efforts, including inventory management, receiving, and sales assistance.
- Monitor pace of play, enforce club policies, and administer handicap procedures.
- Provide individual and group instruction when scheduled and serve as a visible, professional presence on the golf course and around the clubhouse.
- Communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff while managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced private club environment.
