Project Engineer – Commercial Construction
Location: Portland, OR
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: 70-95K base

Position SummaryThe Project Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the successful execution of commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers with day‑to‑day project administration
- Manage and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
- Maintain project schedules, logs, and cost‑tracking tools
- Review drawings and specifications for constructability and scope clarity
- Participate in project meetings and assist with meeting minutes
- Support quality control, safety compliance, and project closeout activities
- Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractor scopes
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- 1–4 years of experience in commercial construction (internship experience considered)
- Strong understanding of construction documents and project workflows
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced project environment
- Experience on commercial projects such as office, healthcare, retail, or mixed‑use
- Familiarity with Oregon construction practices and codes
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
