Controller
$100,000–$125,000 (DOE)
We are seeking a hands‑on Controller to oversee accounting, finance, and administrative functions. This role is ideal for a strong accounting or finance professional who is ready to step up into a Controller‑level position and enjoys wearing multiple hats in a small‑company environment.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate company financial performance and provide actionable insights to onsite ownership
- Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and general ledger accuracy
- Coordinate tax filings and compliance with external CPA
- Validate costing assumptions and support manufacturing cost analysis
- Provide hands‑on backup support to the Accountant as needed
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and credit facilities
- Oversee customer credit reviews, approvals, and A/R collections
- Release orders based on credit status
- Review and sign lien waivers and commercial invoices
- Prepare and review customer agreements in coordination with ownership
- Manage business licenses, corporate renewals, and regulatory reporting
- File unclaimed property reports and maintain compliance documentation
- Maintain intellectual property records
- Oversee insurance broker relationships (commercial and employee benefits)
- Maintain legal records
- Manage and support accounting staff and office administration
- Participate in recruiting and hiring for accounting and administrative roles
- Support employee benefit design, execution, and vendor coordination
- Oversee 401(k) compliance, reporting, and L&I claims
- Ensure workplace compliance postings and requirements are maintained
- Review vendor invoices and payment requests
- Provide oversight of physical inventory processes
- Collaborate with operations and production leadership on costing, inventory, and workflow improvements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong accounting and finance background; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with costing and hands‑on financial operations
- Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
- Experience in Quick Books or similar accounting systems preferred
