Division Chief – Fire Marshal
The City of Camas is seeking a Division Chief – Fire Marshal. This is an exempt, non-represented position and is eligible for a full benefits package including paid time off and paid administrative leave.
ResponsibilitiesThis position will oversee and coordinate the organization, staffing and operational activities of the fire prevention program of the Fire Department, including fire code development and enforcement, plans review, fire investigation, and community education. The Fire Marshal will conduct onsite inspections, prepare compliance reports, and conduct public presentations to various groups, the Planning Commission and City Council. The position will report to the Fire Chief and act as Fire Chief in the absence of the same, when appointed.
Qualifications- Completion of an associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) in fire science or a related field, supplemented by specialized training or certification coursework in fire protection, investigation, building construction, administration or management.
- Seven years increasingly responsible experience in fire prevention and firefighting, including two years administrative and supervisory responsibility.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Possession of a valid ICC Fire Inspector II certification.
- Possession of a valid ICC Plans Examiner certificate.
- IAAI certification, or equivalent, as fire investigator.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within one year, an accredited Fire Marshal Designation (ICC, CPSE or equivalent).
