Atomic is delighted to be partnering with a well‑established, growing and innovative business and advisory firm, looking to recruit a Tax Senior to join their Surrey office. The firm is well established with all accounting assignments from simple tax returns to corporation audits for entrepreneurial and high growth businesses.

Responsibilities

As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for all aspects of taxation. You will play a key role in delivering a wide range of tax compliance and advisory services, including self‑assessment, corporate and personal tax returns, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax advice and returns, Trust Tax returns, and proactive tax planning for clients.

Responsibilities Include
  • Prepare and review corporation tax and personal tax returns for a diverse range of clients.
  • Handle tax planning assignments, including advising on allowances, reliefs, and structuring opportunities.
  • Manage compliance deadlines and ensure timely submission of all tax filings.
  • Review tax computations prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with HMRC enquiries, responding professionally and promptly.
  • Support partners and managers with advisory projects, research, and technical analysis.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all work complies with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high‑quality service and efficient workflow management.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Strong background in personal and/or corporate tax within an accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience preparing tax computations, returns, and advisory work for a varied client portfolio.
  • Solid understanding of UK tax legislation and HMRC compliance requirements.
  • Experience reviewing the work of junior staff and managing client relationships.
  • Proficiency with tax and accounting software such as CCH, IRIS, or similar.
