Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a specialist education setting?
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist school in Surrey that supports children and young people aged 7–19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing, multidisciplinary environment where every day makes a real difference.
The RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils both in and out of the classroom. You will help create a positive, engaging learning environment, encourage independence, and provide tailored support to enable every pupil to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities- Support pupils with their learning and personal development.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists and other professionals.
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
- Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within education or SEND.
- A patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
