Position: Civil Engineering Technician Apprentice (Apprenticeship)
Location: Bagshot

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and detailing of highway layouts, junctions, and access roads using CAD and BIM tools.
  • Support the development of drainage schemes, including foul and surface water systems, attenuation solutions, and SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems).
  • Contribute to earthworks design, including cut and fill analysis, slope stability, and ground modelling.
  • Help prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports for infrastructure and residential development projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections, collecting data for use in design and construction.
  • Assist in preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and schedules for civil works.
  • Ensure compliance with DMRB, CDM regulations, and local authority standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Apply principles of sustainable construction, including carbon reduction and resource efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance and health & safety documentation.
Training

Civil Engineering Technician level 3 Apprenticeship standard. This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, meaning all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated a tutor who will provide a mixture of interactive online group teaching and 1‑1 training monthly.

Qualifications
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4 or above.
  • Qualification / Standard: ST0091 Civil engineering technician.
  • Duration: 24 months.
