Role Overview

As a Tax Semi-Senior / Senior, you will support the management of a varied personal tax portfolio. You will be responsible for preparing tax returns, assisting with advisory work, and building strong relationships with clients.

You will also begin to take on more responsibility, including reviewing work and supporting junior team members where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the management of a portfolio of personal tax clients, including individuals, partnerships, and trusts
  • Preparing personal tax returns and tax computations
  • Supporting with personal tax planning and advisory work
  • Identifying basic tax-saving opportunities and escalating more complex matters where required
  • Reviewing work prepared by more junior team members (where applicable)
  • Supporting and mentoring junior staff as your experience develops
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and applying this knowledge to client work
  • Supporting senior team members and Partners on ad-hoc projects
Requirements
  • At least 2 years’ experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice
  • CTA / ACA / ACCA part-qualified, studying, or qualified by experience
  • Good technical knowledge of personal tax compliance
  • Exposure to income tax, capital gains tax, and ideally some experience with trusts or inheritance tax
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
