Location Overview:

Camberley

Our office in Camberley, Surrey is conveniently situated to the southwest of central London, perfectly placed for people commuting on the M3, M25 and M4, making it easy to get from Hampshire, Berkshire, London and beyond. We also run a morning and afternoon shuttle car service to the office, from both Farnborough Main and Camberley train stations

Description:

We are looking for an experienced Technology Operations Specialist to work in our Data centre; this is a great opportunity to work in the heart of the Data Centre.

May be required to work some weekends and participate in a rotational on call schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • You will Participate in the planning of data hall allocation to include power and cooling needs.
  • You will document all power and space schematics and ensure accuracy in same.
  • You will create/update/maintain rack elevation within a Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) application (Nlyte).
  • You will be coordinating with vendors and internal project teams to ensure effective completion of all hardware installation.
  • You will monitor all issues and elevate issues to appropriate department to ensure effective resolution.
  • Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource; provides tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor.
  • Accepts delivery of Equipment from staging.
  • Perform quarterly quality assurance checks of tracked IT hardware.
  • Keep data centre organised and clean and always maintain a professional appearance.
  • Actively promote and comply with Data Centre Operations work rules standards. Ensuring that procedures are followed.

  • Knowledge and understanding of data centre facility operations and IT environments.
  • Basic understanding of server operations and requirements.
  • Basic understanding of IT equipment electrical requirements.
  • Functional experience with data hall equipment placement planning.
  • Microsoft Office suite. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
