HGV Class 2 Drainage Engineer

Location:

Camberley Sewage Treatment Works, Camberley, Surrey

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 40 hours (plus some weekends)

Salary: OTE £50,000 per annum (basic pay, overtime, on‑call allowance and bonuses)

About the Role
  • Travel to residential sites via a HGV in a two‑person team, around the region, powering a high‑pressure water jet for restoration
  • Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems
  • Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided
  • Run diagnostics and repairs on drains
  • Deliver good customer service
  • Maintain good health and safety practice while carrying out works
  • Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished
  • Comply with health and safety responsibilities, i.e. PPE / safe site setups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users
  • Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
  • Operate JHL specification vacuum tankers and associated equipment
  • Safely access vehicle cabs, sites and offices using correct procedures (e.g., three points of contact…)
  • Manipulate (including loading and unloading to/from tanker pipe storage trays) flexible pipework in a safe manner utilising correct manual handling techniques
  • Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, wearing correct PPE or utilising the lone worker system
  • Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival
  • Liaise with the client regarding process and any updates
  • Provide support to your colleagues
  • Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before and after use
  • Report any defects or malfunctions
  • Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception
  • Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
  • Any other reasonable ad‑hoc tasks, duties or projects as requested by management
About You
  • Hard working and respectful, comply with health and safety standards
  • Experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential
  • Other drainage qualifications (e.g. NRSWA, Confined Spaces) are an advantage
  • Minimum of a HGV Class 2 licence
  • Completed CPC certificate of professional competence
  • Up‑to‑date digi tachograph card
