We are currently looking for a Research Data Scientist - Immunology to join a leading biopharmaceutical company based in the UK. This exciting opportunity is suited for a highly motivated scientist eager to contribute to innovative immunology research within a dynamic environment. Initially, the role will be based at the current research site until a planned move to a new facility in Windlesham, Surrey, is anticipated for mid-2027.
This position offers a unique chance to support early clinical development by generating, analysing, and translating preclinical data to inform therapeutic advances. Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary project teams, you will play a key role in advancing the company's immunology portfolio through cutting-edge data analysis and laboratory experimentation.
- Support the progression of therapeutic molecules in early clinical development by designing and executing in vitro, ex vivo, and potentially in vivo experiments reflective of disease biology.
- Set up and run complex translational assays, including cell culture models, patient tissue ex vivo cultures, and disease mechanism investigations.
- Perform sophisticated analysis of large datasets such as Bulk RNAseq, scRNAseq, and proteomics using advanced data analysis pipelines and tools.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide scientific insights that inform decision-making processes.
- As the Research Data Scientist, you will manage external studies with CROs and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Immunology, Systems Biology, Data Science).
- Proven experience of at least 3 years in industry, with a strong background in immunology and/or stromal biology.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and integrate diverse data sources, including high-dimensional data like RNAseq and proteomics.
- Experience working with primary human tissues and cells, and familiarity with assay techniques such as flow cytometry, imaging, and molecular analyses.
Joining our client offers the chance to be part of a pioneering team within a leading biopharmaceutical environment, working on impactful immunology research. The role provides opportunities for professional development, exposure to cutting-edge data analysis techniques, and the prospect of contributing to innovative therapies that could benefit patients worldwide. Additionally, you will be involved in a forward-thinking company planning a significant transition to a new state-of-the-art facility.
