Location:
Cambourne, Cornwall Salary: £13.68 - £17 per hour
Contract:
Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:00 - ongoing requirement Contact:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Children Health Care Assistant to support young children with complex medical needs within a secondary school environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the children's health, safety, and well-being during the school day.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with relevant clinical experience who is passionate about supporting young children in an educational setting.
Your duties will include the following:
- Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, and medical/physical needs
- Assisting children in science-based learning activities and classroom engagement
- Providing 1:1 or group support tailored to individual learning plans
- Helping with sensory regulation and behaviour support strategies
- Ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Liaising with teaching staff and healthcare professionals
- Monitoring health indicators (e.temperature, pulse, respiration)
- Supporting children with feeding and nutritional needs
- Promoting comfort, wellbeing, and emotional support
- Accurate documentation of care and observations
- Supporting therapy, play, and development sessions
- 6 months experience in the last 2 years
- No sponsor ships provided
- Competency and training in:
- Nebuliser use
- Tube feeding
- Supporting physiotherapy
- Enhanced DBS
- Up-to-date moving and handling and safeguarding training
- A caring, professional, and proactive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience working in a school or with young children
- Knowledge of SEN or experience working in a special educational needs environment
