This is a FIXED TERM CONTRACT for 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) is excited to offer opportunities for Staff Nurse within our Community and Assessment Treatment Unit (CATU) and Same day emergency care (SDEC) which is one of the many ways the NHS is working to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time for patients.

Patients are admitted direct for assessment from home or emergency department . It aims to benefit both patients and the healthcare system by reducing waiting times and hospital admissions, where appropriate.

Do you enjoy acute nursing and dynamic patient flow? The CATU & SDEC model is an innovative and dynamic patient pathway of which a key aspect is the assessment of the acute patient and treatment of symptoms aiming to return the patient on the same day to their home with the right support. You will be empowered to utilise a range of nursing skills (supported by training) to support patients through a clinical assessment, and ongoing treatment.

You should possess commitment to team working and innovative delivery of excellent standards of care. You will need to be able to demonstrate a real enthusiasm for using extended skills and a desire for on-going professional development.

There will be opportunities to lead patient care, taking on differing nursing roles on the unit such as the day case referrals and ensuring that patient care is kept to a high standard.
