We are seeking someone who can bring great communication, organisation and a commitment to public service to this maternity‑cover post.

As part of our Governance & Performance team, you will play a central role in supporting the Service’s projects, programmes and governance arrangements. You’ll help drive delivery of the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) by co‑ordinating, supporting and reporting on a wide range of initiatives.

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of each programme, but will typically include:

  • Providing delivery and co‑ordination support
  • Ensuring effective governance and monitoring
  • Developing and maintaining monitoring systems to track progress
  • Preparing clear, accurate reports
  • Offering project and performance advice to managers across the Service

You will work closely with stakeholders from across Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service, Cornwall Council, partner organisations and our communities to ensure that our work delivers real benefits for the people of Cornwall.

About the Role

This role is fixed term to cover maternity leave. This role could be undertaken as an internal loan opportunity.

The individual will be expected to play a key part in the team, providing project, programme and governance support to the service. You will co‑ordinate, support and report on a range of projects, programmes and initiatives that will help deliver the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).

The role requires different levels of involvement based on the requirements of each programme; ranging from delivery support, facilitated co‑ordination, and governance and monitoring.

This will include developing and administering monitoring systems to support service plan delivery and preparing reports as necessary. You will also provide project and performance advice to managers.

Working Pattern

37 hours per week. This role is fixed term until 8 January 2027.

  • Ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support objectives and improvements for the benefit of Cornwall and its communities.
