Acoustic Research Engineer (Contract) | Cambridge, UK | 12 Months

Our client is currently recruiting for an exciting Acoustic Research Engineer opportunity to join a world-class research team working on cutting-edge audio technologies that are shaping the future of smart wearables and immersive experiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in acoustics, audio signal processing, and experimental research who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

Location:

Cambridge, UK (5 days onsite)

What you'll be doing:

• Designing and conducting acoustic experiments in advanced laboratory environments.
• Developing tools and workflows using Python, MATLAB, and MaxMSP
  .
• Collecting and analysing acoustic data using complex capture systems and prototype devices.
• Working with multidisciplinary engineering and research teams to develop innovative audio solutions.
• Producing technical reports and contributing to cutting-edge research.

We're looking for candidates with:

Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant technical discipline.

3+ years' experience in audio technology or acoustic research.

Strong hands‑on experience with acoustic measurements and laboratory experiments.

Excellent understanding of acoustics and audio signal processing.

Programming experience with Python and/or MATLAB.

• PyTorch or other machine learning frameworks
