This position offers the opportunity to be involved in the design and management of a diverse range of river and coastal projects including lowland drainage, flood risk management schemes, river engineering, and supporting strategic developments for a variety of public and private sector clients. You'll be involved in some of the some of the largest and most important flood risk management projects in the region, protecting people, properties and infrastructure from flooding, and improving habitats for nature.

We're looking for someone experienced in the design, coordination and delivery of projects, with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. You'll be working across all project stages from concept to completion, including construction stage support, using your experience to make sound engineering decisions.

We are defined by more than our services. We are defined by what we stand for, what we believe, and why we do what we do. We make a difference in the world by creating communities.

As a key member of our Rivers and Coastal Management team , your role will involve the following:

  • Preparing designs, specifications and reports for flood risk management schemes, river and coastal engineering.
  • Preparing and communicating design information for all stages of the project development cycle from concept to construction.
  • Delegating to other team members and ensuring high quality design information through QA checks.
  • Liaison with the Environment Agency, Marine Management Organisation and other stakeholders to obtain necessary consents.
  • Liaison with clients, contractors and multi-disciplinary Stantec teams through all stages of projects.
  • Supporting projects through the construction stage, including technical queries and inspections to monitor quality.
  • Supporting the growth of the team, mentoring and developing our early career people.
About You:
  • Chartered professional status, or close to application.
  • Experience of working with other disciplines with regards to the design and specification of works.
  • Experience of working with Contractors with regards to supervision of and monitoring of construction works.
  • Ability to represent Stantec in a client-facing role.
  • Ability to work independently, producing high quality technical work.
  • Experience of AutoCAD an advantage.
