Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Nurse Educator to join our North Alliance community nursing teams. We are seeking a dynamic District Nurse who can provide robust clinical leadership, support safe and effective care for our valued service users, and help shape the future of community nursing.

As a pivotal member of our community nursing team, you will play a key role in instilling a culture of continuous learning. Collaborating closely with our leadership team and fellow nurse educators, you will help maximise learning and development opportunities throughout our diverse portfolio.

The successful candidate will share clinical knowledge and expertise and provide group supervision to nurses within the team, using case studies derived from previous incidents and evidence to create a rich learning environment.

You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Your ability to question and challenge existing practices will drive continuous improvement.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Embed a learning culture across the community nursing service, working closely with the leadership team and other nurse educators to maximise learning opportunities.
  • Share clinical knowledge, expertise, and advice, and provide group supervision to pre‑ and post‑registration nurses using case studies to learn from incidents, complaints, investigations, and new evidence.
  • Ensure robust business continuity plans are in place and contribute to service delivery to support business continuity.
  • Collaborate with MPFT services and external partners to develop and deliver effective care pathways, liaising with the clinical training team to keep the workforce up‑to‑date with knowledge, skills, and emerging technology.
  • Co‑ordinate access to formal training programmes; act as a named mentor for specialist practice students and provide group supervision to cohorts on degree pathways, linking taught courses with clinical practice.
Person Specification Training Essential
  • Bachelor's degree (Masters Level)
  • Current NMC registration
  • V300 Independent Nurse Prescribing (or working towards)
  • Specialist Practice Qualification in District Nursing
  • Registered Mentor/Assessor
Desirable
  • Teaching qualification
Experience Essential
  • Experience of developing and delivering training using a variety of methods.
  • Experience of assessment and management of people with long‑term conditions and complex physical health needs.
Desirable
  • Quality Improvement experience.
