Position: Government Clerk Interpreter Role
Become a vital part of the Government of Nunavut as a Clerk Interpreter in Cambridge Bay. This role focuses on delivering translation services for health-related communications in Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun and English.

In this position, you will report to the Manager at the Continuing Care Centre, facilitating essential communication and support services for patients and healthcare providers. Applicants should possess the ability to manage sensitive information while providing clerical assistance. An understanding of local issues and Inuit culture enhances your effectiveness in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver professional and responsive translation support services

• Facilitate interactions between clients and health teams

• Execute clerical functions for health service operations

• Assist in handling patient referrals and complaints

• Act as a key Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun resource for health staff

Requirements:

• Grade 10 and one-year interpretation experience required

• Fluency in Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun and English necessary

• Potential need for valid driver’s license

• Complete WHMIS and Dangerous Goods certification in a year

• CPR/First Aid qualification preferred
