What is the Opportunity?
As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Document Controller will be responsible for setting up and maintaining project documentation within the project filing requirements, including checking the quality of drawings and documents to be catalogued, as well as receiving, tracking, and monitoring drawings and documentation.
This is a night shift (7pm-3am) position based in Cambridge, ON.
What You'll Do Here:
Maintain the document control system to ensure all documents are tagged, retrievable, and securely storedVerify the accuracy and completeness of documents received, ensuring they meet company standards and regulatory requirementsRegularly review and update documents to ensure they are current and comply with standardsEnsure all documents are easily accessible in the document storage system and retrieve files as needed by company staffMonitor regulatory activity to maintain compliance with records and document managementEffective communication and interaction with various internal and external organizations is importantTrain employees on records management procedures and policies, including documentation, retention, retrieval, and destructionCollect, scan, and upload documents following established proceduresNotify personnel of updated document versions and how to access themPrint and distribute documents as necessaryWork with documents and records across various departmentsExperience working with various file typesAbility to find and preserve paper documentsWhat You Bring To The Team:
Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Business Administration or similar field.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in document or records management.Understands the importance of Nuclear Safety.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Problem-solving skills and initiative.Proficient in MS Office applications and MS windows environment.Familiar with digital document management systems and software Aconex, SharePoint, Acrobat.Able to travel to different site locations if required, work location may vary office or onsite in trailers.Able to lift 40lbs and stand for long periods of time
