Job Overview

Position: Journeyman Automotive Technician

Dealership: Cambridge Hyundai

Location: Cambridge, ON

Classification: Full‑Time, Immediate Hire

Salary: Flat Rate, $40.00/hour + production bonus. Signing bonus $1,000 and retention bonus $2,000 payable after 6 months, details to be discussed at interview.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance work as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and OEM standards.
  • Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to manage production/repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
  • Conduct multi‑point inspections and make repair recommendations while ensuring safety and reliability of vehicles before return.
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle RO by creating a story in the associated repair order, consistent with OEM standards, and ensuring warranty work is paid by the manufacturer.
  • Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician tools not normally inventoried by the Service department.
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training classes as required.
  • Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process.
  • Red Seal Certification is an asset.
  • Completion of a related post‑secondary program or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving history.
