Position

Journeyman Automotive Technician – Cambridge Hyundai, Cambridge, ON, Canada.

Location

Cambridge, ON, Canada.

Classification

Full‑Time, Immediate Hire.

Salary

Flat Rate $40.00 per hour plus production bonus, signing and retention bonus to be discussed at interview.

Signing / Retention Bonus

Up to $1,000 signing bonus and $2,000 retention bonus payable after 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

As an Automotive Technician, your primary responsibilities include diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicle systems, performing preventative maintenance, inspecting critical components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines, and repairing or replacing parts as needed. You will also mentor apprentices and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production, cycle times and customer communication.
  • Conduct multi‑point inspections and provide appropriate repair recommendations.
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order in a manner consistent with OEM standards.
  • Maintain inventory of common automotive technician tools.
  • Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training classes as required.
  • Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate (completed or in process).
  • Red Seal Certification is an asset.
  • Completion of a related post‑secondary program and/or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
