Special Needs Educational Assistant LTO

Support special needs students in a temporary position with the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB). This LTO role as an Educational Assistant requires expertise in child-related support and effective behavior management.

WRDSB is seeking a Level D Educational Assistant to bolster the educational experience of special needs children. Candidates with relevant diplomas and a commitment to equity are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist special needs children in classroom settings

• Support learning and developmental goals of students

• Collaborate with teachers and staff for effective education

• Maintain consistent communication with families and caregivers

• Implement behavior management strategies in the classroom

Requirements:

• EA/CYW qualifications from an accredited institution

• Minimum one year of experience with special needs

• Valid Behavior Management Systems certification preferred

• Training in Autism Spectrum Disorder is advantageous

• Physical Demands test clearance required
