Support students with special needs as an Educational Assistant Level D with the Waterloo Region District School Board. This role demands related work experience and qualifications for effective assistance.
The WRDSB invites applications for an Educational Assistant Level
D. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with a diploma or degree in child-related disciplines and relevant experience in special needs support. Ideal candidates will also possess a valid Behaviour Management Systems certification and experience working with students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students with special needs during educational activities
• Implement individual education plans and support classroom learning
• Collaborate with teachers and staff for effective student outcomes
• Conduct interventions as directed for student behavioral challenges
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for all students
Requirements:
• Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent qualification
• Minimum one year supporting special needs children
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred
• Pass Physical Demands test for employment
