Educational Assistant - Extended

Position: Educational Assistant - Extended Day Before
Become an Educational Assistant with the Waterloo Region District School Board for Extended Day Before programs. Support students with special needs and deliver high-quality educational experiences.

This position is open to WRDSB employees and external applicants. Candidates must have relevant qualifications such as an Educational Assistant Diploma or applicable experience in special needs support. Your work is crucial in fostering learning environments that promote student well-being and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with special needs during learning activities

• Collaborate with educators to develop supportive strategies

• Monitor student progress and adapt techniques as necessary

• Conduct supervision during breaks and transitions

• Participate in training and professional development sessions

Requirements:

• Physical Demands test must be passed

• Educational Assistant Diploma or equivalent qualifications

• Minimum one year experience supporting special needs children

• Valid First Aid and CPR certification

• Autism Spectrum Disorder Training preferred
