Long Term Educational Assistant

Educational Assistant work with WRDSB requires specialized qualifications and a Physical Demands test for applicable Level D assignments. This vacancy welcomes employees and external applicants.

The Waterloo Region District School Board serves approximately 65,000 students across 123 schools and alternative education sites. Candidates may qualify through teacher certification, an Educational Assistant Diploma, Developmental Service Worker training, social work credentials, or alternative education and experience pathways. Special needs experience is preferred.

• Support students within Waterloo Region District School Board learning environments
• Complete the Physical Demands test when required
• Participate in one-way Interview stream video interviews when invited
• Complete required screening and employment documentation

• Certified teacher or approved Educational Assistant qualification
• One year of related experience for alternative qualification pathways
• Recent special needs and behavioural disability experience preferred
• Valid first aid and CPR certificate or annual renewal registration
• Vulnerable Sector Check and annual offence declaration where required
