Temporary Special Needs Educational Assistant

Support special needs students as a Temporary Educational Assistant with the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board. Apply empathy, discretion, and classroom support skills.

This full-time Educational Assistant position works 35 hours weekly across a 10-month term, beginning immediately with unknown duration. You will assist teachers delivering prescribed programs in individual and group settings. The work includes supporting Individualized Education Plans, student transitions, behaviour management, communication logs, and classroom routines.

• Assist with prescribed programs for special needs students
• Support lessons, projects, crafts, charts, and teaching materials
• Observe and report student development and behaviour
• Provide feeding, toileting, lifting, and clothing-change assistance
• Support supervision, field trips, meetings, and classroom tasks

• Completed post-secondary Educational Assistant program or equivalent
• Minimum one year experience working with children
• Ability to perform physical tasks including toileting and lifting
• Positive, empathetic, discreet, and independent approach
• Basic computer software knowledge and relevant training preferred
