Design Engineering Manager

You will manage a team of structural designers, ensure engineering accuracy and code compliance, and drive continuous improvement in design quality, speed, and efficiency. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of structural designers.

Review and approve Solid Works models and structural drawings.

Complete P.Eng. stamping and field reviews for Ontario projects.

Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Drive process improvements, design standards, and best practices.

Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Permitting teams.

Oversee ECNs, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and documentation control.

Support production accuracy and troubleshoot design issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.

8+ years engineering experience, including 3+ years in management.

Strong Solid Works expertise in a custom manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of structural design codes, metal fabrication, and construction.

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor preferred), MS Office, MS Project.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
