Spark Power, a trusted partner in power in North America, is looking for an Automation Specialist to join our team. The Automation Specialist is responsible for programming, debugging, installation and startup of new or modified production and test equipment from the perspective of controls installation.
Here’s what you will do as a Automation Specialist:
Prepare functional descriptions of process controls and sequence of operationsDevelopment and support of PLC and HMI programs for use on industrial equipmentApplication and setup of VFD and multi axis servo control systemsIntegration of specialized hardware and software into manufacturing systems to enhance automation and control with an emphasis on efficiencyPanel design (AUTOCAD)Commission and trouble shoot robotic applicationsAssist customers and/or co-workers with electrical/programming issuesAssist with specifications for purchase of electrical componentsRespond to emergency service requirements including participating in a weekend coverage schedule with fellow team membersProvide electrical machine commissioning and/or technical support both on and off-siteField installation work requires travel to customer's facilitiesHere are some of the perks Spark employees enjoy:

Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:
2 - 5 years of "hands on" Controls experienceProficient in industrial machine controls, electrical systems, PLC and HMI programming with a working knowledge of multi axis servo systemsAble to create CAD drawings for assembly and wiring control panels and instrumentationExcellent troubleshooting skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSkill in organization and problem solvingAbility to work in a team environmentUnderstanding of production machine, and machine tool capabilitiesFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to the automation fieldProgram Allen-Bradley, Omron and Siemens PLC's and HMI’sRobot Programming and troubleshooting is a plusUnderstanding Networking basicsSQL/DBA experience is a plusWho is Spark Power?
