Position Overview:
As our Manager, Project Engineering, you will lead a talented team of engineers driving project engineering and graphics initiatives. You will provide technical guidance on component projects and proposals, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure smooth execution across the department. Reporting to the Director, Component Engineering, you will manage Engineering Leads and Analysis Engineers while regularly collaborating, influencing, and negotiating with internal teams and external customers to deliver results.

Your Day to Day as our Manager, Project Engineering:

  • Hands on leadership! Work alongside and inspire the project engineering team to deliver on strategic goals with accountability and excellence.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure projects are on time and on target.
  • Drive the design and engineering of nuclear components, including steam generators and heat exchangers, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Support proposals, R&D, and manufacturing to deliver innovative and competitive engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, review documentation, and resolve complex design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Champion process improvements and new product development to keep BWXT at the forefront of the industry.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary engineering degree with 10+ years’ experience in the nuclear field, including management or supervisory roles.
  • Strong technical expertise in pressure vessel design and manufacturing, compliant with ASME/CSA codes and standards.
  • Previous experience working with steam generators.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead technical teams to deliver project objectives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in directing activities to achieve both customer satisfaction and strategic corporate goals.
  • Ideally, past experience working in a welding and fabrication shop and has an understanding of welding engineering.
