Magnit Direct Sourcing on behalf of Toyota is currently hiring a Seibi Tech for a temporary assignment in Cambridge, ON. This is a 12 month contract. The pay range for this role is between $35 - $40/Hr. Benefits:

What We’re Looking For
A highly motivated, well organized, critical thinker and reliable individual with project management experience and technical skills in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage new model projects from equipment aspects of Plastics Production Engineering. The person in this role will support the Plastics Production Engineering department’s objective to provide new model equipment and processes to manufacturing facilities which meets all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost.

What You’ll Be Doing

Create project schedules and manage budgets for new and modified equipment and/or processes

Create equipment strategy that feeds into project budget making

Lead process development through process design, layout development, machine specification, equipment buyoff, equipment procurement and installation/commissioning, safety risk assessments, and process trials based on project milestones and events

Teach robots on new and existing equipment for major model changes

PLC programming on new and existing equipment for major model changes

Manage projects to achieve KPIs

Execute onsite equipment modifications during non‑production time (weekends, holidays, etc.)

Participate in team kaizen and organizational improvement activities

Interact with inside and outside groups (Plastics/Paint Pilot, Paint PE, Plastics SE, Plastics Planning, Plant Facilities, General Contractors, Vendors, etc.) to divide responsibilities and resolve conflicts

Role will be integrated with the Process team and there will be opportunities to expand skills into plastics injection molding and processing

Role will support major model changes at Woodstock and Cambridge plants and may be asked to support other projects in the US and Mexico

Qualifications / What You Bring (Must Haves)

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or comparable education with additional experience required

Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant work experience

At least 2 years of experience in installing and commissioning manufacturing equipment

At least 2 years of experience in robot teaching, PLC programming, and controls work

Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdowns to support tooling modification and installation projects in Cambridge and/or Woodstock

Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to support work at machine vendors, Toyota manufacturing locations, and Japan, including ability for dispatch to another site for an extended period of time, up to 1 year or longer

Legal authorization to work in Canada

Added Bonus If You Have (Preferred)

Experience in Body PE or FAE

Experience in plastics injection molding processes and equipment

Automotive experience

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and PLC circuits and make problem countermeasure recommendations

Catia experience

AutoCAD experience

Toyota experience

Qualifications / License
