Location:
Vancouver, BC (Remote options available within Canada for the right candidate)
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $85,000 – $120,000 + benefits
An established international consulting firm specializing in the mining and natural resources sector is seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join its growing groundwater and hydrogeology team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside highly experienced technical specialists on complex mining, environmental, and water management projects across Canada and internationally.
The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team supporting projects from early-stage exploration through operations and mine closure. The role offers strong technical exposure, career development opportunities, and involvement in both field-based and analytical hydrogeology work.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute hydrogeological field programs
Supervise drilling and groundwater investigations
Install and operate deep groundwater instrumentation (>250m)
Conduct aquifer testing and hydraulic testing programs
Analyze hydrogeological and environmental datasets
Develop conceptual groundwater models
Support water balance and inflow assessments for mining projects
Contribute to remediation evaluations and engineering support studies
Prepare technical reports and presentations
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including geochemists, geotechnical engineers, water management specialists, and mining professionals
Support and mentor junior staff while managing project tasks and timelines
Qualifications & Experience
Undergraduate degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, Physical Geography, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline
Master’s degree or additional postgraduate studies considered an asset
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in hydrogeology or related disciplines
Mining industry experience is considered highly desirable
Experience with :
Bedrock hydrogeology investigations
Deep groundwater instrumentation
Packer testing and hydraulic testing methods
Open pit and underground mine hydrogeological assessments
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Ability to work independently in remote field conditions and variable weather
Professional registration, or eligibility for registration, within Canada
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
