Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Job Description
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist here at Honeywell, you will establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business leadership for your assigned commodity/category and/or site as per the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have site responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest total cost for your site, reduce working capital through negotiation planning and execution, source new vendors, perform value engineering, and eliminate sole or single sources.

You will manage supplier performance to support your commodity/category and/or site and ensure supply continuity. You will handle several projects in a dynamic environment and ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, as well as export/import regulations.

You will report directly to our Sr ISC Project Management Manager and work out of our Cambridge, ON location on an onsite work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the company by contributing to cost‑saving initiatives, strengthening supplier relationships, and supporting the execution of strategic sourcing projects that enhance supply chain efficiency and competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Lead formal negotiations (price, schedule, and supplier exceptions to contractual flow‑down requirements, as well as standard terms and conditions).

Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers and follow up to ensure understanding.

Review quotes, analyze results, determine negotiation plans/strategies, and address any exceptions to flow‑downs, specifications, quality notes or Honeywell terms and conditions.

Expedite orders when required to ensure on‑time shipments.

Quickly understand processes and ensure adherence to them.

Deploy a systematic approach to work and perform tasks in a timely and well‑organized manner with limited oversight.

Adapt to constantly changing work assignments, make timely decisions while balancing conflicting goals, and act decisively in ambiguous environments. Work in a fast‑paced, autonomously driven, demanding atmosphere.

Convey subtle or complex messages clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences, both written and verbal.

Expert knowledge of aerospace.

Qualifications
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP / CSP / Secret security clearance.

Required Qualifications

Diploma in Materials Management or Technical Certificate.

Minimum 2 years in one or more of the following: procurement, supply chain, operations.

Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP or site‑relevant ERP systems, e‑sourcing platforms, request for quotation tools, and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in aerospace procurement or related field (manufacturing industry).

Experience working and/or leading in site team environments.

Project management and/or contract management experience.

Professional certifications in project, supply chain, procurement, or contract management.

Experience in supply management, sourcing, procurement, or business.

Demonstrated business and financial acumen.

Experience with Six Sigma and Lean tools.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,100 to $93,400 in Cambridge, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
