Buyer - Sourcing, House

Loblaw is hiring a full-time Buyer – Sourcing, Hot House in Cambridge, Ontario. Reporting to the Produce Sourcing Director, this role supports category procurement for the Produce category.

• Source weekly and seasonal product buys for baseline and promotional volumes.
• Implement buying strategies aligned with category playbooks and annual budgets.
• Manage vendor relationships, performance, fulfilment and financial results.
• Lead or assist with vendor meetings, product costing negotiations, RFPs and cost mitigation.
• Assess product innovation and support private-label sourcing with Loblaw Brands and retail divisions.
• Work with supply chain replenishment and transport teams to address availability and fulfilment challenges.
• Research category competition, cost benchmarks, global sourcing strategies and product quality specifications.
• Provide insights on cost inflation, commodity trends, competition and global product innovation.

• Post-secondary education in business or supply management, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or retail merchandising.
• Analytical, financial, business and retail knowledge.
• Relationship management, communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, and comfort using software platforms.

Hiring range: $68,000–$93,500 per year. Compensation may reflect experience, knowledge and location. This is an existing vacancy. Candidates aged 18 or older must complete a criminal background check.
