At Aecon, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are focused on identifying, attracting, and hiring talented and diverse workers to work in our Cambridge Fabrication Shop and we are currently seeking a Painter to support projects at this facility.
Eligibility to Join
Successful applicants must become members of the United Association union local 527 as a Metal Trades Worker.
What You'll Do Here
Be able to spray using conventional, airless, and plural equipment.
Be able to prepare materials for spray application: i.e., mask, sand, clean.
Be able to read and understand drawings / dimensions.
Be able to follow coating technical data sheet specifications.
Be able to use wet film and dry film gauges.
Have familiarity in all types of coatings, i.e., zincs, epoxies, polyurethanes, etc.
Operate hand and power tools of all types.
Handle material using forklifts, overhead cranes, buggies and carts.
Receive and identify incoming material.
Clean and prepare shop areas.
Assist other craft workers.
Be willing to learn new skills as Aecon will provide training for this position.
What You Bring To The Team
Fall Arrest is an asset.
WHMIS Certification is an asset.
Overhead Crane Training is an asset.
Forklift Training is an asset.
Ability to use stairs, ladders.
Ability to work extended hours when required, occasionally in outdoor weather conditions.
Flexibility to work various shifts.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs independently.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
Ability to perform repetitive motions using power tools and blasting equipment.
Work is primarily performed in a fabrication shop environment and may include exposure to dust, noise, vibrations, and industrial equipment.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, as required, in all seasonal and weather conditions.
Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, protective clothing, gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection.

The expected pay range for this role is: $20/hr - $35/hr individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
