Position Overview
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Material Handler is responsible for the flow of inventory into, out of, and through the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will verify incoming shipments, organize components in the warehouse, prepare component bundles matched to builds, and package or ship finished assemblies. They also ensure all inventory movements are tracked in the company's ERP system.
What You’ll Do
Receive, unload, verify and sign for all incoming shipments.
Track inventory receipts in the ERP system and attach the validated packing slip.
Notify the procurement specialist of any discrepancies between packing slip and goods received.
Store all received inventory in the warehouse area and keep it well organized.
Prepare and issue component kits containing the parts required for each build.
Perform periodic cycle counts of all warehouse areas to validate ERP system data.
Package and label control panels and loose components for shipment.
Load packaged equipment onto trucks and ensure it is properly secured.
Take and store photos of all outbound shipments as per company policy.
Gather and process leftover components at the conclusion of each build.
Ensure that all shelves and workstations are properly stocked with consumables.
Complete daily safety inspections on all equipment that requires it (forklift, ladders, etc.).
Maintain general housekeeping activities (collection of discarded component packaging from workstations, emptying of garbage/recycling bins, breaking down cardboard, sweeping, etc.).
What You Bring
3+ years of shipping/receiving experience.
3+ years of related experience in a warehouse/inventory environment.
Forklift license would be an asset.
Knowledge of and commitment to workplace safety and quality.
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Strong command of the English language (read, write, speak).
Attention to detail, organized, proactive, and positive approach in the workplace.
Ability to build effective working relationships and provide excellent customer service.
Ability to work with a variety of equipment and tools.
Ability to walk and stand for long periods in an open, bright plant environment.
Use of Personal Protection Equipment required (e.g., safety boots).
