Role

Purpose:

The Team Leader helps maintain production requirements by determining staffing needs and monitoring and updating production priorities on an ongoing basis. They oversee production and production staff to ensure all is running smoothly to align with the production schedule.

Starting Wage
: $25.00

Schedule
:
Monday to Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Flexibility to adjust hours and provide day or afternoon shift coverage as needed for vacations, absences, and operational requirements.

Key

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages, directs and maintains staffing and shift scheduling
  • Achieves operational objectives
  • Determines production priorities
  • Resolves production and personnel problems pertaining to operations
  • Ensures that all staff adhere to company policies and procedures (GMP)
  • Maintains a safe and healthy working environment
  • Trains and motivates new and existing employees
  • Maintains knowledge of plant production
  • Maintains quality service of finished goods
  • Completes special projects as assigned
  • Creates and maintains harmonious labour relations while respecting company’s and employees’ rights and obligations.
  • Keeps employees informed on their work performance regularly.
  • Observes employee actions, listen to problems, provide advice and direction.
  • Ensures that rules and procedures are duly applied and in constant compliance with government regulations.
  • Maintains good relations with co-workers and staff at all levels.
  • Resolves on the spot problem to ensure pleasant working conditions.
  • Always encourages teamwork and team effort.
  • May assist with dealings with Ministry of Labour, Labour Board, WSIB, EI and any other external institutions pertaining to issues of the company which include appeals to the boards and attending mediation on behalf of the company if needed.
  • Perform assigned duties in compliance with applicable ISO, GMP, quality, and environmental procedures and promptly report deviations or risks.
Qualifications and

Experience:
  • Secondary high school education
  • 3+ years in a supervisory position in a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs

    Knowledge of GMP's, SOP's, Health and Safety
  • Excellent organizational, planning and leadership skills
Physical Demands:
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
  • Pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
