Build custom-engineered components through five-axis CNC machining, Mastercam programming, and accurate inspection at Mac Donald Steel Limited.
As a Custom Machinist, you will create programs and operate CNC systems for specialized production. The work includes horizontal boring mills, vertical mills, lathes, and other advanced machining equipment. You will use Heidenhain and Fanuc controls, interpret drawings, secure fixtures, load parts, and verify dimensional tolerances. Precision tools include micrometers and vernier calipers. Mac Donald Steel Limited is located at 200 Avenue Road in Cambridge, Ontario, with dedicated day and afternoon shifts available.
Afternoon shifts run Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and include a stated $3.00 hourly premium.
- Program and operate advanced CNC machining systems
- Load parts using cranes and designated lifting devices
- Align fixtures, tools, attachments, and materials
- Calculate dimensions and verify completed units
- Monitor feeds, speeds, defects, and specifications
- Licensed Machinist with manufacturing environment experience
- Experience programming Heidenhain and Fanuc control systems
- Mastercam experience with advanced machining equipment
- Skilled Solid Works user
- Ability to adapt, collaborate, and solve problems
