MAIN PURPOSEThe main purpose of this full‑time position is to complete SUD assessments, identify client needs, provide screenings, individual and group counseling, and case management services for individuals requiring SUD services or a caseload of clients who fit the DSM‑V criteria for substance use, gambling disorders, and mental health disorders. This position continuously monitors clients’ appropriations for treatment at a particular level of care, prepares toxicology screens for testing and shipping, and is performed under close supervision.
The role supports the agency’s mission to provide quality SUD treatment to clients suffering from substance use, mental health, and/or gambling disorder.
- Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Supervised Counselors-Alcohol and Drug. - Experience:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Certified Supervised Counselors-Alcohol and Drug.
- Eligibility for and obtaining certification by the Board of Professional Counselors as a Certified Supervised Counselor-A Alcohol and Drug prior to permanent appointment.
- Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the State of Maryland if assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle.
- Substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
- Work performed in a Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or a Maryland State certified addictions program.
$54,886 – $69,848 per year.
