Position Summary

The machinist/CNC programmer is responsible for creating parts from drawings and/or solid files. These parts are for internal use and quantities are usually less than four per drawing. Equipment used will be 3‑axis mills, lathes, and surface grinders. This position is also responsible for maintaining the equipment, managing the tooling inventory, and ordering required material.

Hourly Compensation

$25 – $35/hr.

Shift

Monday – Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pm (Fridays off)

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate numerically controlled machines.
• Set up and operate manual control machines.
• Determine proper machining methods.
• Estimate time required for project completion.
• Design and create custom fixturing.
• Select the correct speed and feed for the cutter/material combination.
• Identify required tooling or work‑holding devices.
• Maintain tolerance on parts that require heat treatment.
• Document procedures such as setup sheets and the tooling library.
• Plan day‑to‑day activities and take individual initiative in performing daily workflow.
• Communicate with internal and external contacts by telephone, in writing, and in person.
• Serve as a resource in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Regal Rexnord policies, 6S procedures, and core values.

Experience and Skills Required

• 3+ years of CNC programming experience or an equivalent degree combination.
• 3+ years of machinist experience.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Accurate reading of engineering drawings, programs, blueprints, and G‑codes.
• Experience with Solid Works preferred.
• Experience with Mastercam preferred.
• Knowledge and use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to write and explain moderately complex information.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
