About the job

Our client, a growing life sciences company, is seeking a Shipping Support Associate to join the operations team in the Cambridge, MA area. This individual will play a critical role in day-to-day shipping, receiving, and customer service for a variety of biotech research products, including temperature-sensitive materials. This is a hands‑on role in a small office environment where strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and prior shipping experience are key.

The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and capable of managing their workload with minimal supervision once trained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle daily shipping and receiving for domestic and international orders
  • Prepare commercial invoices and shipping documentation (Fed Ex, UPS)
  • Create product labels and datasheets
  • Receive and process incoming shipments
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, including tracking updates and order troubleshooting
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, scanning, filing, and uploading files to internal databases
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–2 years of prior shipping/receiving experience in a lab, warehouse, or biotech setting strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with domestic and international shipping platforms (Fed Ex, UPS, etc.)
  • Comfortable working independently after initial training
  • Strong computer skills and fast, accurate typing
  • Detail‑oriented and process‑focused, with the ability to follow precise instructions
  • Excellent customer service skills via phone and email
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
  • Knowledge of Fed Ex shipping tools/platforms required
  • Ability to relocate boxes, supplies and equipment, occasionally lifting about 50–150 lbs or more, bend and stand for extended periods of time (~4–5 hours daily)

This is a fulltime, perm, hourly role. Compensation is in the $23 - $25/hr range.
